Customs Crack Down on Mobile Screens, Display Screen Controversy Continues, Smart Phone Screens are Mis-declared as Feature Phone

· DRI has asked Preventive Department to maintain vigil

· Importers are mis-declaring the item “LCD Display + Touch Screen assembly” (which are used in smartphones) as “Mini LCD for Mobile Parts” (which are used in feature phones not having touch screen capability).
