FSSAI Defers Health Certificate Order of 24/02/2023 for Import of Milk and Meat Products Till Further Orders

Subject: Extension of requirement of Health Certificate accompanied with the import of food consignments

Reference is drawn to Board’s Instruction No 18/2022-Customs dated 12.08.2022, read with Nos. 26/2022-Customs dt. 06.10.2022, 32/2022-Customs dated 28.11.2022 and 04/2023-Customs dated 27.01.2023 relating to the requirement of Health Certificate to be accompanied with the import of certain food consignments.

2. In this regard, FSSAI Order dated 24.02.2023 (copy enclosed) has informed that the considering the representations from various countries and other stakeholders, the implementation of the FSSAI’s order issued vide F.No. 1829/Health Certificate/FSSAI/Imports-2021 dated 03.08.2022 is deferred till further orders.

3. It is requested that the necessary action may be taken to sensitize officers under your jurisdiction.

4. The difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this instruction may please be brought to the notice of the Board.
