Docosaphexaenoic Acid (DHA) Standard Revised to not Less than 5% by Weight
Content in Refined Fish Body Oil

Subject: Amendment in the
Import Policy of Fish Body Oil (Refined).
In
exercise of powers conferred under Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development
and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy,
2009-2014, as amended from
time to time, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in
Chapter 15 of ITC (HS) 2012, Schedule 1 (Import
Policy):
2. The Quality Parameter (iv)-Eicosapentaenoic
Acid EPA + Docosaphexaenoic Acid DHA of Fish Body Oil (Refined) under Exim
Codes 1504 20 10 and 1504 20 20 as prescribed in Policy Condition 5 at the end of Chapter 15 of
ITC (HS) 2012, Schedule 1 (Import Policy) is revised from the present
‘5-15% by weight’ to ‘Not less than 5% by weight’. After the revision, the
Quality Parameters in Policy Condition 5 of Chapter 15 shall be as under:

3. Effect of
this Notification
The prescribed standard of EPA & DHA content in
Fish Body Oil (Refined) has been revised to ‘Not less than 5% by weight’
without any upper limit.
