Gold Import Reporting through XBRL System

Sub: Data on Import of Gold Statement - Submission under XBRL

Attention of Authorised Dealer Category - I (AD Category - I) banks is invited to A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No. 103 dated April 03, 2012 in terms of which AD Category - I banks are required to submit a statement on import of Gold, to Reserve Bank of India, in the prescribed format, on a monthly as well as half yearly basis.

2.  It has been decided to move from manual reporting of the above mentioned statements to extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) system from half year ended September 2014. The details may be accessed at https://secweb.rbi.org.in/orfsxbrl/. For User name and password, AD banks are advised to submit the fill-in form (format annexed) through email on or before September 26, 2014.

3.  AD banks are advised to submit the statement in soft copy (through XBRL) as well as manual statement (MS-Excel file through email) for month/half year ending September, 2014. From the month of October, 2014 onwards, the submission of manual statements (monthly as well as half yearly) would be dispensed with. All other instructions remain unchanged.

4.  The Directions contained in this circular have been issued under sections 10(4) and 11(1) of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999 (42 of 1999) and are without prejudice to permissions / approvals, if any, required under any other law.
