Commerce Ministry Invites Online Applications from Millers and Refiners for Urad Import Quota Allocation

[Trade Notice No.42/2019-20 dated 19 December 2019]

Subject: Restriction on import of Pulses.

Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry vide Notification dated 18th December, 2019 allowed import of Urad upto an annual quota of 04 lakh MT and the same will be allowed only to the Millers/Refiners as per procedure to be notified by Directorate General of Foreign Trade.

2. The Notifications comes into force with effect from 181h December, 2019. Copy of the said Notifications is attached herewith for ready reference.

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 18th December, 2019

S.O. (E).-In exercise of powers conferred by section 3 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (22 of 1992), read with paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020, the Central Government hereby notifies the Import Policy of items of Chapter 7 of the Indian Trade Classification (Harmonized System), 2017, Schedule-1 (Import Policy), as under-

07133190	Urad (Beans of the SPP Vigna Radiata (L.) Wilczek)	Restricted	Import of Urad shall be subject to an annual (fiscal year) quota of 04 lakh MT. Import of Urad under the Quota Restriction will be allowed only to the Millers I Refiners as per procedure to be notified by Directorate General of Foreign Trade :
			Provided that this restriction shall not apply to Government's import commitments under any Bilateral or Regional Agreement or Memorandum of Understanding.
