Addverb Noida Gets
$1billion Robot Order from Reliance Industries
Newly-acquired Addverb
Technologies has received orders worth
around $1 billion, spread over four-to-five years, from Mukesh
Ambani-led Reliance
Industries for robots with 5G
technology.
Reliance Retail picked up a majority stake in the
Noida-based robotics startup for $132 million last month.
The startup is an intra-logistics automation solution
provider. It builds robotics and automation solutions for factories and
warehouses.
The robots will be deployed in Reliance Industries’
(RIL’s) Jamnagar refinery, a TOI report quoting sources said. They can be
operated out of Mumbai, which will allow RIL
to experiment with 5G tech.
Addverb said that a tagging inventory consisting of a fleet of
Dynamo 200 bots is being used for intra-logistics operations inside the plant
at Jamnagar. The bots are virtually connected through a 5G network and is
controlled through Legion, its fleet management system hosted over the remote
server located in Ahmedabad.
In addition, a fleet of Dynamo series of bots with one
ton payload capacity, virtually connected over the 5G network, have been used
for bagging line automation, where they fetch the pallets of refinery bags.
