BRICS Nations Sign Pact for Local Currency Facility

BRICS nations on 29 March signed an agreement on line of credit for trade. on extending credit facility in local currency under BRICS Interbank Cooperation Mechanism and the multilateral letter of credit confirmation facility between EXIM and Development Banks.

This is expected to promote trade in local currencies.

It also decided to study the possibility of setting up a joint development bank.
