DoT Issues Invitation of Expression of Interest for Innovators and
Startups
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on February
09, 2022 has issued the Invitation of Expression of Interest for innovators and
Startups and MSMEs and other stakeholders who are involved in Research and
development in the area of open RAN (Radio Access Network) through setting up
of an open RAN Lab in PPP / Collaborative mode.
The key role of the Open RAN Lab will be to extend
testing facility for proliferation of Open RAN ecosystem in India. In order to
achieve above objective, TEC intends to engage with interested parties having
existing testing facility for Open RAN who would be willing to collaborate with
TEC through Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)/Agreement
in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode to make available their Open-RAN
testing infrastructure to other stakeholders working in this area for carrying
out Interoperability/Conformance/Functional/Performance/End-to-End Quality of
Service(QoS) testing under the overall aegis of TEC
(DoT).
