DoT Issues Guidelines for Grant of Unified License
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on January 17,
2022 has issued guidelines for grant of unified license.
The following guidelines has been stated namely: -
• The applicant must be an Indian company, registered under the
Companies Act, 2013
• One Company can have only one Unified License. The applicant
company can apply for authorization for more than one service and service area
subject to fulfillment of all the conditions of entry simultaneously or
separately at different time. The tenure of such authorization will run
concurrently with the Unified License.
• A one-time non-refundable Entry Fee for authorization of each
Service and service area shall be payable before signing of license agreement
and thereafter for each additional authorization.
• Any applicant who has been issued a LoI
for grant of a license in the existing regime prior to UL guidelines, shall be
considered for grant of UL with applicable terms and conditions for that
authorization only. In such cases, processing fee/entry fee already paid shall
be adjusted. In no case, processing fee/entry fee already paid shall be
refunded either in part or full.
