Documents to Begin in Chennai Airport after Delhi and Mumbai
New website of Office of the
Commissioner of Customs (Airport & Air Cargo), Chennai launched

Mr. S.K.Goel
said that electronic processing of courier documents which were hitherto done
manually will be introduced shortly in Chennai as the same has already been operationalised in Delhi & Mumbai(.) He said CBEC has
recently issued guidelines regarding self-assessment procedure to facilitate
compliant trade and that it is a big leap forward in trade facilitation(.)
A new website, www.aircustomschennai.gov.in
for the office of the Commissioner of Customs (Airport & Air Cargo), Chennai
was launched on 16 June by S. K. Goel, Member, Central
Board of Excise & Customs. The website provides information related to
passenger clearance, cargo clearance, clearance through courier cell, clearance
of foreign post articles, information regarding CHA regulations, list of CHAs,
online status of bills of entry, shipping bills, IGM / console manifest, links
to many related websites as one-stop source(.)
Sanjay Kumar Agarwal,
Commissioner (Air) invited suggestions from the members of the trade to make
the website much more useful to the public and that the public may email their
suggestions to improve the website to chcusair@dataone.in.
