Past Orders for Gensets Exempted from Pollution now for One More Year

G.S.R. 436(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 and 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), read with sub rules (3) of the rules 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986 the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, namely:

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Environment (Protection) fourth Amendment Rules, 2023.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette.

2. In the Environment (Protection) Rules 1986, in the schedule I, in the entries against serial number 88, in item “C. the General Condition”, in condition 12, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-

“Provided that the supply of Genset and Genset engine in respect of which purchase order has been received by the manufacturer on or before the 30th June, 2023 shall be permitted upto the 30th June, 2024 as per the norms defined in this condition.”
