Subject: Extension in timelines for the implementation of the Order for product categories included in the schedule of CRO vide S.O. 3429(E) published in Gazette of India on 01^st October, 2020.

S.O. 1166(E).—Whereas in exercise of the powers conferred by clause 10(1)(p) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 (63 of 1986) and in pursuance of clause (fa) of the Rule 13 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 1987, the Central Government, had included seven electronics and information technology product categories to the Schedule of the “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” vide S.O. 3429(E) published in Gazette of India on 01st October, 2020. The date of coming into effect of this Order was 01st April, 2021. And, whereas, the issues involved have been discussed with the stakeholders for smooth implementation of the Order and whereas, the industry has sought more time for compliance of the Order, it is hereby notified that the date of implementation of the Order stands extended to 01st October, 2021.
