BIS Certificate Mandatory for Universal Beam and Angle (L Section) Structural Steel w.e.f. 31 March 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 (63 of 1986), the Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, hereby makes the following order further to amend the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Second Order, 2012, namely:-

1. (1) This order may be called the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Second (Second Amendment) Order, 2013.

(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Second Order, 2012, in the Schedule, against serial number 9, in the entries under column (4),-

(a) for item (e) and the entries relating thereto, the following item and entries shall be substituted, namely:-

Date of coming into force of the product in the standard to the extent given below

(A) Product (B) With effect from

“(e) Universal Beam structural steel of size (depth) greater than 590mm 31st March, 2013” up to and including size 1016mm

(b) after item (fa) and the entries relating thereto, the following item and entries shall be inserted, namely :-

Date of coming into force of the product in the standard to the extent given below

“(fb) Angle (L section) structural steel of size between 50x50x4 31st March, 2013”
and 100x100x8
