NACEN Bangalore Campus Inaugurated

On 29 May, 2017, the new NACEN Bangalore campus was inaugurated by Finance Minister. This state of the art campus is in line with the Swachhta theme and the motto of zero garbage zone and green building. This complex, under the guidance of TERI, has implemented projects like Soil Bio Filtration based Sewage Treatment Plant and Organic Waste Converter and includes a herbal garden.

Three Tier Structure for GST

GST, a three tier structure has been constituted under the GST Council Secretariat, which will consist of Office of Revenue Secretary, a GST Implementation Committee (GIC) and eight Standing Committees. These committees have on board officers from both Centre and States. This three tier structure will enable taking quick administrative decisions which may be required before and after the rollout, effective coordination with Centre and States, coordination amongst the states and flagging important issues to the GST Council.

GST Seva Kendras (GSKs) provide the entire gamut of taxpayer services such as trade awareness, education and handholding. It is now proposed that such GSKs be also opened at the Division and Range level to be a one stop solution for tax payers seeking advice/information on GST, including assistance in registration, payment, etc.
