Customs will Honour DEPB with LEO till 30.09.11

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 97/2009-Customs, dated the 11th September, 2009, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 663(E), dated the 11th September, 2009, namely :-

In the said notification, -

(i) for para 2, the following para shall be substituted, namely:-

“2. This notification shall be valid in respect of the Duty Entitlement Pass Book Scrips issued by the Licensing Authority against exports having Let Export Order up to and inclusive of the 30th day of September, 2011.”

(ii) after Explanation (iv), the following Explanation shall be inserted, namely:-

“(v) “Let Export Order” means an order which permits clearance and loading of the goods for exportation by the proper officer in accordance with section 51 of the said Customs Act.”
