Rejected Goods Re-import at Zero Duty in EOU Allowed

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of
the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied
that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the
following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in
the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 52/2003- Customs, dated the 31th March, 2003, which was
published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3,
Sub-section (i) vide G.S.R 274 (E), dated the 31st
March, 2003, namely:-

notification, in Annexure-I, in serial
number 15, the following
Explanation shall be added at the end, namely:-
“Explanation.-
For removal of doubts, it is clarified that the goods for which there is
failure of the foreign buyer to take delivery shall include goods rejected by
the foreign buyer.”.
