BIS Certification not Compulsory
for Low Melt Polyester Fibres, Import is Free Now

Chemicals and Fertilizers Order S.O. 2333(E) dated 26 May, 2023]
S.O. 2333(E).—In exercise of
the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 16 read with sub-section
(3) of section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016), the
Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, is of the
opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do in the public interest,
hereby makes the following order further to amend the Polyester Staple Fibres
(Quality Control) Order, 2022, namely: -
1 Short title and
commencement: (1) This order may be called the Polyester Staple Fibres
(Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023.
(2) It shall come into force
on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Polyester Staple
Fibres (Quality Control) Order, 2022, in paragraph 1, after sub-paragraph (3),
the following proviso shall be inserted, namely: -
"Provided that nothing in this Order
shall apply to Low Melt Polyester Fibres”.
