Seven Food Processing Schemes included under PM Kisan

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) on February 04, 2022has issued a notice to extend the benefits of the umbrella scheme of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojna (PMKSY).

PMKSY is a comprehensive package which will result in creation of modern infrastructure with efficient supply chain management from farm gate to retail outlet. It will not only provide a big boost to the growth of food processing sector in the country but also help in providing better prices to farmers, creating huge employment opportunities especially in the rural areas, reducing wastage of agricultural produce, increasing the processing level and enhancing the export of the processed foods.

The following schemes will be continued under PMKSY:

(i) Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure,

(ii) Creation of Infrastructure for Agro-Processing Clusters,

(iii) Creation / Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities,

(iv) Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure (FTL),

(v) Human Resources and Institutions- Research & Development

(vi) Operation Greens
