TRU Gives a No to DGTR Anti-subsidy (CVD) Duty Recco on Aluminium Alloy Ingots from Malaysia

Subject: Anti-subsidy investigations concerning imports of ‘Aluminium Primary Foundry Alloy Ingot in different forms’ originating in or exported from Malaysia

The undersigned is directed to refer to final findings on the above subject issued vide notification F. No. 6/43/2020-DGTR, dated the 31st January, 2022, wherein it was recommended to impose countervailing duty on imports of ‘Aluminium Primary Foundry Alloy Ingot in different forms’ originating in or exported from Malaysia.

2. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (6) of section 9 of the Customs Tariff Act, read with rules 20 and 22 of the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection of Countervailing Duty on Subsidized Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules, 1995, the Central Government, after considering the aforesaid final findings of the designated authority, has decided not to accept the aforesaid recommendations.
