Thailand, European Union Question India’s Import Restrictions on Tyres, ACs and TV Sets

India’s restrictions on imports of air-conditioners, tyres and TV units have drawn the ire of Thailand and the European Union, which raised the difficulty at a gathering within the World Commerce Group. On the assembly held final week, Thailand stated its tyre exports to India fell 31% in July and 43% in August, whereas a few of its AC consignments have been returned. The EU needed particulars on the procedures and the scope of the import restriction on tyres.
