IEC Status is OK only if ICEGATE at Customs too Accepts it!

· IEC data though transmitted by DGFT to ICEGATE (Customs) is not accepted by ICEGATE (Customs) due to some transmission errors

· Facility has been created to check the current status of IEC application and status of IEC transmission to ICEGATE. The status query is based on PAN used in IEC application made to DGFT.

· IEC successfully registered at DGFT and accepted by ICEGATE - IEC ready for use

· If status at Sl no 4 is not indicated, the applicant is requested to check the status of IEC at ICEGATE 3 days after the transmission to ICEGATE at the following link https://www.icegate.gov.in/EnqMod/ and report the problem to Contact@DGFT, if required.

Subject: Launch of facility to check status of Importer Exporter Code (IEC) application made to DGFT

Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is applied/ modified through online portal for IEC application. It has come to notice of DGFT that in some cases even after issuance of IEC by DGFT, the IEC data though transmitted by DGFT to ICEGATE (Customs) is not accepted by ICEGATE (Customs) due to some transmission errors. As a result, the IEC holder is unable to export/ import using this IEC.

Therefore, for early detection of such cases and timely resolution of such cases, a facility has been created to check the current status of IEC application and status of IEC transmission to ICEGATE. The status query is based on PAN used in IEC application made to DGFT. The facility to check status of Import Export Code(IEC) application can be accessed from DGFT website using Online Application -> IEC -> Know your IEC Status or directly from http:/1164.1 00.128.145:8100/IecStatusReport/ link.

PAN Number and first three letters of Firm Name can be entered to check the status. Based on the status displayed, action to be taken as mentioned below

2	IEC application rejected	Please re-submit the application after complying with the deficiencies raised by the RA. There will be no need to pay the fee again.
3	IEC transmitted to ICEGATE, yet to be accepted by ICEGATE	Wait for 3 days for IEC to be successfully accepted by ICEGATE
4	IEC successfully registered at DGFT and accepted by ICEGATE	IEC ready for use

If status at Sl no 4 is not indicated, the applicant is requested to check the status of IEC at ICEGATE 3 days after the transmission to ICEGATE at the following link https://www.icegate.gov.in/EnqMod/ and report the problem to Contact@DGFT, if required.

IEC holders may please note that IEC is ready for Import/ Export of goods only after IEC details get successfully registered at DGFT and accepted by ICEGATE(Customs).
