Only Services Categories Notified in Appendix 3D Allowed for SEIS Claim

Subject: Eligibility of IT enabled Services under Appendix 3D of the Services Exports From India Scheme of the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20

This Directorate has received representations from some RAs/SEZs and also members of Trade regarding the eligibility of IT/ ITeS (Information Technology/ Information Technology Enabled Services) under the Services Exports From India Scheme (SEIS). The matter has been examined in the Directorate. It is noted that the Appendix 3D does not mention any service as IT/ITeS Service and only has a positive list of the Services, with a CPC Provisional code which has been made eligible for claiming benefit under SEIS.

2. In view of aforesaid, it is being clarified that only the service categories which have been notified in Appendix 3D for SEIS are allowed for claim under SEIS. It is immaterial whether these notified services are delivered on an IT enabled platform or otherwise.

3. This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
