Indian Mackerel Fish (Aiyla) MEIS Raised to 7% with Retrospective Effect from 1 Nov 2017

Effect of Public Notice: Indian Mackerel export under any HS Code of 2012/2017 is eligible for MEIS benefit for exports made during the period 01.04.2015 to 30.06.2018. For exports made on or after 01.07.2018, Indian mackerel is eligible for MEIS benefits only under Serial No. 8019 and 8020 of Table 2 of Appendix 3B-MEIS Schedule.

Subject: Eligibility of Indian Mackerel under Table 2 of Appendix 3B of Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20

In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 1 .03 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in the Appendix 38 of MEIS, issued earlier by this Directorate, and amended from time to time.

2. The following items are incorporated in the Appendix 3B, Table 2

3. These two MEIS SI Nos. are also added in the Annexure to the Public Notice 62 dated 16.02.2018 w.e.f. 01.07.2018. The benefits would be granted under MEIS only if the description of these export items in the Shipping Bill is as per the description in Table 2 to Appendix 38.

4. Indian Mackerel (species Rastrelliger Kanagurta) exported under any HS Code in Chapter 03 of the ITC HS 2012 / 2017 is eligible for MEIS incentive at the rate of 5% (for exports during the period 01.04.2015 to 31.10.2017) and 7% (for exports during the period 01.11.2017 to 30.06.20 18).
