Soda Ash Imports Restriction with MIP below CIF Value Rs. 20,108 per MT Extended by Six More Months to 31 Dec 2025

· Value Must be Rs. 20,108 or above for Free Import

· Restriction to Operate for Six Months upto 31 Dec, 2025 by Which time Anti-dumping Findings will be notified

· India is one of the largest Importer of Soda Ash in the World. The Chemical is freely Available in Natural form in Kenya and elsewhere but it has to be Synthesized here as India does not have natural resources.

Subject: Extension in Minimum Import Price (MIP) Condition on Import of Soda Ash covered under Chapter 28 of ITC (US) 2022, Schedule-I (Import Policy).

S.O. (E): In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 and Section 5 of Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, as amended from time to time, and in continuation of Notification No. 46/2024-25 dated 30.12.2024, the Central Government hereby extends the Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition on 03 HS Codes of Soda Ash (Disodium carbonate) 28362010, 28362020 and 28362090 under Chapter 28 of the ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule -I (Import Policy) for a further period of six months i.e. from 01.07.2025 upto 31.12.2025.

Effect of the Notification: Minimum Import Price (MIP) @ Rs. 20,108 per MT on import of Disodium Carbonate (Soda Ash) has been extended upto 31.12.2025.
