Storing Hazardous Cargo at CFSs Extended to 15 April 2011
The following Public Notice was
issued by the Commissioner of Customs (Export) Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House on
31st March 2011.

Sub: Storing of Hazardous Cargo -Public Notice no. 08/2011 dated
04.02.2011 on Clarifications/modifications in Handling of Cargo in Customs
Areas Regulations, 2009.
Attention of all the Members of Trade and Industry, including all
persons responsible for receipt, storage, delivery, dispatch or otherwise
handling of imported goods and export goods in any capacity in a Customs area
is invited to Public Notice No.. 36/2011 dated 21.03.2011 wherein it was
reiterated that no CCSP would be allowed to handle, store, receive or dispatch
the hazardous cargo (import or export) after 31.03.2011 unless they are duly
authorized for the same by the Customs department.
2. In view of the requests
received from the CFSs the said date has been extended further till 15.04.2011. All the CFSs are requested
to comply with the guidelines as envisaged in guidelines/check list of P.N. No.
08/2011 dated 04.02.2011 and take necessary approvals of storing/handling etc.
of hazardous cargo before the last date i.e. 15.04.2011. It is final extension
and all Shipping Lines/Importers/Exporters are requested to ensure taking of
Hazardous cargo only to the Notified CFS after the said date.
3. Public Notice No. 36/2011 dated 21.03.2011
stands modified to the above extent.
4. Difficulties faced, if any, in following the
above procedure, may be brought to the notice of the undersigned
immediately.
