Repairs of Defectives on Re-export Must Follow Hazardous Wastes Rules

·        Import for Re-export Follows the Hazardous Waste Rules. This is for duty exemption cases of temporary import

Effect of this Notification:  Import policy for Second Hand Goods imported for the purpose of repair/refurbishing/ re- conditioning or re –engineering is laid down.

Subject: Amendment in Para 2.31 of Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020.

In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of FT (D&R) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby incorporates Para 2.31 (III)  as under:

Subject to condition that waste generated during the repair / refurbishing of imported items is treated as per domestic Laws/ Rules/ Orders I Regulations/ technical specifications/ Environmental /safety and health norms and the imported item is re-exported back as per the Customs Notification.
