Temporary Suspension of n-Butyl Acrylate QCO Further Extended by 21 Days

The Central Government has extended the
temporary suspension of the n-Butyl Acrylate (Quality Control) Order,
2021.
·
The amendment has been issued through S.O.
3729(E) under the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Act, 2016.
·
The original Quality Control Order was notified
vide S.O. 5438(E) dated 24 December 2021.
·
The extension has been made in the public
interest under Section 16 read with Section 25(3) of the BIS Act,
2016.
·
The Government cited global supply chain
disruptions and the need to ensure adequate availability of n-Butyl
Acrylate as the reason for the extension.

Accordingly, the date in the proviso to paragraph 2
of the Order has been revised.
·
The temporary suspension, which was earlier valid
up to 10 July 2026, has now been extended to 31 July 2026.

During this extended period, the provisions of the n-Butyl
Acrylate (Quality Control) Order, 2021 will remain suspended to facilitate
uninterrupted supply of the product.

Petrochemicals Order S.O. 3729(E) dated 9 July, 2026]
S.O. 3729(E).— Whereas, the Central Government has
notified the n-Butyl Acrylate (Quality Control) Order, 2021 vide S.O. 5438 (E),
dated 24th December, 2021 (hereinafter to referred as the said Order) in the
public interest under and the powers conferred by section 16 of the Bureau of
Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016);
And
whereas, in view of the exigencies prevailing globally, the Central Government,
in consultation with Bureau, has taken cognizance of the supply chain
disruption and is satisfied that to ensure availability of the n-Butyl Acrylate,
it is necessary and expedient to suspend the operation of the said Order
temporarily;
Now,
therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 read with
sub-section (3) of section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act 2016, (11
of 2016), and being of the opinion that it is necessary so to do in the public interest,
the Central Government after consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards,
hereby makes the following amendment to the said Order, namely:-
In
the n-Butyl Acrylate (Quality Control) Order, 2021, in paragraph 2, in the
proviso, for the figures, letters and word “10th July, 2026”, the figures,
letters and word “31st July, 2026”
shall be substituted.
