FSSAI Notifies Standards for Frozen Shrimps, Finfish and Frozen Fish Fillets

Sub: Vertical standards on fish and fisheries products

FSSAI has notified the final Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Eleventh Amendment Regulations, 2017. Through this notification the standards for frozen shrimps and frozen finfish and frozen fish fillets have been revised and a comprehensive standard for canned fishery products have also been prescribed. This notification also prescribes the standards for Frozen Cephalopods, Smoked Fishery Products, Ready-to-eat finfish/shell fish curry in retortable pouches, Sardine Oil, Edible Fish Powder, Fish Pickles, Frozen Minced Fish Meat, Freeze Dried Prawns (Shrimps) and Frozen Clam Meat.

The above regulation will come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
