GeM Launches 10-Day Celebrations Ahead of Its 10th Foundation Day

·         Celebrations launched: The Government e Marketplace (GeM) formally launched 10-day celebrations on 31 July 2026 leading up to its 10th Foundation Day, marking a decade of transforming public procurement through technology, transparency, and inclusivity.

·         Foundation Day logo unveiled: The celebrations began with the unveiling of the official GeM 10th Foundation Day logo, symbolising ten years of GeM's journey in building India's trusted digital public procurement ecosystem.

·         Concept film released: A concept film on the commemorative logo was screened, highlighting GeM's:

o    Evolution,

o    Major milestones,

o    Vision for the future.

·         CEO's address: Mihir Kumar, CEO, GeM, reflected on GeM's transformative achievements over the past decade and outlined its roadmap for the next phase of:

o    Growth,

o    Innovation,

o    Stakeholder-centric public procurement.

·         Publication launched: The latest edition of GeM Bharti, GeM's in-house Hindi magazine, was released during the event.

·         Employee recognition: The organisation honoured employees for their exemplary contributions and long service.

·         Upcoming stakeholder events: As part of the celebrations, GeM will organise:

o    Buyer Meet on 5 August 2026.

o    Seller Roundtable on 10 August 2026.

o    10th Foundation Day celebrations, which will conclude the commemorative programme.

·         Awards for ecosystem partners: Distinguished buyers and sellers will be recognised for their outstanding contributions to strengthening the GeM ecosystem.

·         Year-long outreach programme: The launch also marks the beginning of a year-long series of stakeholder engagement initiatives and outreach programmes across India.

The celebrations commenced with the unveiling of the official GeM 10th Foundation Day logo, symbolising ten years of GeM's journey in building India's trusted digital public procurement ecosystem. A concept film on the commemorative logo was also screened, showcasing GeM's evolution, key milestones and vision for the future.

Addressing the gathering, CEO, GeM, Mihir Kumar, reflected on the organisation's transformative journey over the past decade and outlined its vision for the next phase of growth, innovation and stakeholder-centric public procurement.
