How is Eurasia Different from Russia

Eurasia and Russia differ mainly in scale and concept. Eurasia is the largest continent, a combined landmass of Europe and Asia. It includes many countries, among them Russia, China, and Central Asian nations. Russia, in contrast, is a specific country that spans both Europe and Asia geographically, with about 75% of its territory in Asia and the rest in Europe.

Russia is often described as a Eurasian country because it bridges the two continents, with the western part culturally and politically aligned more with Europe, while the larger landmass lies in Asia. Geopolitically, Eurasia is sometimes defined more broadly to include Russia, its neighboring former Soviet states, and even China, forming economic and political unions such as the Eurasian Economic Union.

In summary:

·         Eurasia is the vast combined continent of Europe and Asia.

·         Russia is a transcontinental country located within Eurasia, extending across eastern Europe and northern Asia.

·         Russia is both a part of Eurasia geographically and a major geopolitical actor in the broader Eurasian region.

·         The term Eurasia represents a larger geopolitical and cultural zone that includes multiple countries, not just Russia.
