MEIS Based on HS Code will Bring Great Relief to Exporters: FIEO

There was a long pending demand of exporters to grant MEIS benefit on HS code basis. The recent decision of the DGFT to process majority of claims on HS code basis will be a great relief to exporters. This was stated by Mr Ganesh Kumar Gupta, President, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO). He complimented the Commerce& Industry Minister for giving this relief to exporters at this difficult time, when large amount of exporters’ money is blocked on account of IGST and ITC refunds. President FIEO further said that the processing of MEIS claims on HS codes will cut down unnecessary delays and bring ease in the whole process of claiming the legitimate benefit.
