MeitY Showcases India’s Digital Innovation, AI, Semiconductors and Startups
at India Mobile Congress 2026

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology
(MeitY) showcased India’s digital capabilities at the 10th India Mobile
Congress (IMC) 2026, held at Yashobhoomi, New
Delhi, from 7–10 October under the theme “Scale
Without Boundaries.”

The pavilion featured Digital Public Infrastructure
initiatives, including Aadhaar, DigiLocker, UMANG
and Entity Locker, highlighting easier access to digital identity,
documents and government services.

AI and language technology: BHASHINI
demonstrated multilingual digital access, while interactive exhibits offered
AI-avatar creation and virtual-reality cricket experiences.

Data protection and digital infrastructure: Exhibits
covered the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework, API Setu, UX4G
and NIXI.
·
Advanced technology: C-DAC,
SAMEER and the India Semiconductor Mission showcased capabilities in applied
research, Internet infrastructure and semiconductor development.

Startup promotion: Software Technology Parks of India
(STPI) presented 14 incubated startups, enabling them to showcase
innovations to investors, industry representatives and visitors.

The pavilion highlighted India’s expanding
capabilities across digital public services, AI, semiconductors, advanced
research and technology entrepreneurship, providing opportunities for
collaboration among students, researchers, startups and industry.

The 10th edition of India Mobile
Congress (IMC) 2026 commenced at Yashobhoomi, New
Delhi, on October 07, 2026 bringing together technology companies, startups,
innovators, policymakers, researchers and industry leaders from across India
and the world. The event was formally inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister
Narendra Modi October 8, 2026.
Being held from October 07 – 10, 2026
under the theme “Scale Without Boundaries”, IMC 2026 provides a platform for
dialogue, innovation and collaboration around next-generation connectivity and
emerging technologies.
The Ministry of Electronics &
Information Technology (MeitY) has set up a dedicated
pavilion at IMC 2026, showcasing a diverse range of Digital India initiatives
and capabilities across Digital Public Infrastructure, citizen services,
language technology, data protection, semiconductors, Internet infrastructure,
advanced research and technology entrepreneurship.
Digital foundations supporting
citizen and government services are being highlighted at the pavilion, which
include Aadhaar, DigiLocker, UMANG and Entity Locker.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate how digital platforms are making
identity, documents and access to government services more seamless, secure and
convenient for citizens and organisations.
At API Setu booth, visitors are
understanding about integration and information exchange through APIs,
supporting interoperability across digital systems. UX4G team is helping
visitors explore how to improve the user experience and design of their digital
assets through a citizen-centric design.
A booth featuring the Digital
Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework highlights the importance of
responsible processing and protection of personal data in the digital age.
Digital India BHASHINI is
demonstrating the application of Artificial Intelligence and language
technologies to facilitate access to digital content and services across Indian
languages. MyGov India has come up with a collection of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ videos,
highlighting stories, voices and grassroots initiatives from across the country
at their booth.
The pavilion also features the Centre
for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), which is showcasing DARPAN S3,
along with NIXI, SAMEER and India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), highlighting
capabilities across Internet infrastructure, applied research and advanced
technology.
Software Technology Parks of India
(STPI) is participating with 14 STPI-incubated startups, giving entrepreneurs
an opportunity to present their products and solutions to visitors, investors
and industry participants. The startup showcase provides a glimpse into
emerging Indian innovations and the pathways through which technology ideas are
being developed into market-ready solutions.
An interactive Experience Zone offers
visitors an opportunity to engage with emerging technologies. One booth enables
visitors to create their own AI avatar, while another offers a VR-based cricket
experience, demonstrating applications of AI and immersive technologies in an
accessible and engaging format.
The MeitY
presence at IMC 2026 brings together digital services, citizen engagement, AI,
startups, semiconductors, Internet infrastructure and advanced research,
offering visitors a concise view of the breadth of India’s technology
capabilities and the opportunities emerging across these areas. Students,
entrepreneurs, government officials, researchers and industry representatives
can explore the initiatives, interact with innovators and experience selected
technologies during the IMC 2026.
