Import Duty on Speakers in Heading 8518 Hiked to 15% from 10%

[Notification No. 69/2018 – Customs dated 26 September, 2018]

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act,1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 57/2017- Customs, dated the 30th June, 2017, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide, number G.S.R. 798 (E), dated the 30th June, 2017, namely:-

In the said notification, in the Table, for S.No. 18 and the entries relating thereto, the following S.No. and entries shall be substituted, namely:-

(1)	(2)	(3)	(4)	(5)
“18.	8518	All goods other than:- (i) Speakers, and; (ii) the following parts of cellular mobile phones, namely:- (1) Microphone; (2) Wired Headset; and (3) Receiver	10%	-”

2. This notification shall be effective from the 27th September, 2018.
