India’s automotive transition, with strong participation from leading OEMs and
component manufacturers. By incentivizing AAT production and enforcing domestic
value addition, the scheme is expanding EV adoption, boosting exports, and positioning
India as a global hub for advanced vehicles and components.

Under the Production Linked Incentive
(PLI) Scheme for Automobile and Auto Components Industry (PLI Auto scheme), there
are 82 approved applicants (as on 30.11.2025). The list of applicants is at Annexure-I.
The approved applicants have multiple units manufacturing various Advanced Automotive
Technology (AAT) products. State-wise list of manufacturing units is at Annexure-II.
The PLI Auto Scheme has a budgetary outlay
of ₹25,938 crore. As on 30.11.2025, the incentive of Rs. 1,350.83 cr. has
been disbursed to five applicants. The Eligible Sales target till March, 2028 (over
Base Year FY2019-20) is Rs.2,31,500 crore and, sales of Rs.32,879 crore has been
achieved till 30.09.2025.
PLI Auto Scheme proposes financial incentives
to boost domestic manufacturing of AAT products and attract investments in the automotive
manufacturing value chain. EV adoption has been increased and due to Domestic Value
Addition (DVA) requirement, localization of EV value chain is expanding across the
AAT products.
