US Runs Record
$21.6bn Trades Deficit with Vietnam, India Only $4.5bn

The US trade
deficit was $73.3 billion in June, down $4.4 billion from $77.6 billion in May,
the Commerce Department reported.
Exports and
imports both were down in June. Exports were $314.7 billion, $2.9 billion less
than May, while imports hit $388 billion, down $7.3 billion.
The June decrease
in the goods and services deficit reflected a decrease in the goods deficit of $3.9
billion to $102.1 billion and an increase in the services surplus of $500
million to $28.8 billion.
Year-to-date, the
goods and services deficit decreased $189.3 billion, or 33.8 percent, from the same
period in 2025. Exports rose $198.3 billion or 11.7 percent, while imports
increased $9 billion or 0.4 percent.
The average goods
and services deficit increased $5.6 billion to $68.5 billion for the three
months ending in June.
Exports of goods
fell by $4 billion to $206.9 billion in June, while services exports rose by $1.1
billion to $107.8 billion. Goods imports were down by $7.9 billion to $309
billion, but services imports rose by $600 million to $79 billion.
The United States
ran trade deficits in June with Vietnam at $21.6 billion, Mexico $20.3 billion,
China $15.3 billion, Taiwan $14.9 billion, European Union $10.9 billion, South
Korea $7.4 billion, Canada $7.2 billion, Germany $7.1 billion, India $4.5
billion, Malaysia $4.4 billion, Japan $3.3 billion, Ireland $2.7 billion, Italy
$2.5 billion, France $1.5 billion and Israel $1.2 billion.
Surpluses were
recorded with Netherlands at $7.2 billion, South and Central America $5.6
billion, Hong Kong $3.2 billion, Switzerland $2.9 billion, United Kingdom $2.2
billion, Singapore $1.8 billion, Saudi Arabia $1.8 billion, Brazil $1.7
billion, Australia $1.3 billion and Belgium $900 million.
