WTO Releases Updated "One-Page Case Summaries" Covering 225 Dispute Settlement Cases

The WTO has issued a new edition of WTO Dispute Settlement: One-Page Case Summaries, a regularly updated publication that provides succinct summaries of every panel and Appellate Body report adopted by the WTO's Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) and every arbitration decision or award notified to the DSB up to the end of 2025. The publication also includes summaries of panel reports circulated to WTO members and published on the WTO website that have not yet been adopted by the DSB, as they remain subject to pending appeals.

·         The World Trade Organization (WTO) has released a new edition of "WTO Dispute Settlement: One-Page Case Summaries."

·         The publication provides concise summaries of:

o    Every Panel Report and Appellate Body Report adopted by the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB).

o    Every arbitration decision or award notified to the DSB up to the end of 2025.

·         It also includes panel reports circulated to WTO members that are yet to be adopted because they are under pending appeals.

·         Each one-page summary contains:

o    Core facts of the dispute.

o    Key findings of the report.

o    Other significant aspects of the case.

·         Fourteen new cases have been added since the 2023 edition.

·         The publication now covers a total of 225 WTO dispute settlement cases.

·         Cases are arranged in chronological order for easy reference.

·         The publication also includes:

o    An index by WTO Agreement.

o    An index by the WTO Member responding to the complaint.

Each one-page summary comprises the core facts, the key findings contained in the reports and any other matters of particular significance. Fourteen cases have been added since the 2023 edition, bringing the total number of cases covered by the publication to 225.

The disputes are presented in chronological order. Two indexes list the disputes by WTO agreement and by WTO member responding to the complaint.
